Prada announced last week that Azzedine Alaia will buy back 100 percent of his company from the Milan fashion group. Alaia will continue to work with Prada on bags and shoes. That makes sense real coach purses, because Alaia has developed a very good relationship with the Prada folks in that area. I’m not inclined to read much into the announcement. Prada helped Alaia get his business on track Coach Sandals, and that has been accomplished. He has always been independent.
